Sikitura – Escape from the Hustle and Bustle
Everyone knows the Carpathians as a recreation resort. What immediately comes to mind? Right, Yaremche, Bukovel, Mykulychyn, Tatariv and further inland and inland to the other side of the mountain range... However, despite the enormous frenzy of tourist centers mentioned, only two sites in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast have a resort status: Cherche in the Rohatyn district and Sheshori in Kosiv. And this is because the microclimate of Yaremche is different from Kosiv. There it is abrupt and inconstant, here it is mild and stable, perfect fit for the holiday, but not extreme relaxation. Those who prey on adrenaline, they go in the direction of Yaremche, those who run away from the hustle and bustle go to Sheshory or even further in forest, Burkut. Burkut is clearly in a remote region, because to get there you must traverse poor roads to the very end of civilization. Burkut is for the lover of the exotic and barbaric. The best resort area is Sheshory with mild weather and a constantly clean, fast-moving river. Also, it is interesting to know that Sheshory and the village, Tyudiv have the most sunny days per year according to meteorologists. Sheshory was once visited by thousands of tourists from the whole country and department of tourist centers and sanatoriums. Now the only reminder of this are the wooden skeletons of those structures. Instead, there are small private estates. One of the most attractive private estates is the mysteriously titled "Sikitura" which is located against the hill a hundred meters from the famous Sheshoryan water recession, the so-called Guku, in the central part of the village. The swift river provides free massages. As we explain here, "sikitura" is derived from the Romanian word "sikuritate", or security. For a battle on the hill, stood a Romanian security post, and people still call this corner, Sikitura. The homestead, which was referred to, is a quiet and fragrant oasis amidst the magnificent deciduous and coniferous trees, built over a deep ravine. The building itself does not violate the harmony of the forest, because on the outside, and inside, we used natural materials – stone, wood, metal. No fiberboard, no plastic, no drywall, all natural. Even the smell in the rooms, "natural". Perhaps, as a princely mansion smelled a thousand years before us. Climb up a carved staircase (by the way, here are carvings by the Kosiv school masters on almost each square meter) and reach the rooms. All with a different configuration and size, but they are in the same style. An exquisite aesthetic taste is felt even to the touch. On the walls, there are ceramic plates and paintings. Here is the "Cherry Room", the "Coniferous Room", the "Room for Lovers” with its intimate specificity, here's the attic, approaching above a ravine. Branches of birch and spruce make up the handrails. In the rooms, there are oak tables and beds. The only thing that violates the spirit of the times are the modern bathrooms in every room, and a television. But let nature be forgiving, allowing this in our time. (After all, who does not want to take a shower with hot water). The homestead "Sikitura" is suitable for family holidays as well as for privacy without too much distance from civilization. This mountainous area has a strange way of absorbing sound: just a hundred yards away is a noisy waterfall and the laughter of children, and here is silence in the shade of lush, peace and tranquility. Absolute relaxation. In the distance a land of mushrooms. The homestead has five rooms, designed for 17 people. Prices are available upon request. Breakfast is included in the room rate. For lunch and dinner no effort is required; there is a restaurant, two cafes and a food store nearby. Relevant for this place is a known proverb: "All that we are seeking is located next door." It is only necessary to clearly define for ourselves: What are you actually looking for?
